Irina Shpigel, Esq., Managing Attorney at Shpigel & Associates, P.C., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in litigation.
While coming of age, Ms. Shpigel felt inspired to help people in a very real way, drawing influence from the example of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who said that one must be in the room in order to affect change. Ultimately, she attained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Pace University in 2004 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Albany Law School of Union University in 2008. In the earlier years of her career, between 2006 and 2008, she was a legal intern at the Albany County Department of Law, a legal intern for chief legal counsel at Kinetics Mutual Advisors LLC and a clinical extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. From there, Ms. Shpigel excelled as a law clerk at Schoengold, Sporn, Laitman and Lometti from 2008 to 2009 and the principal of the Law Office of Irina Shpigel, Esq. from 2010 to 2014.
Today, Ms. Shpigel excels as a managing attorney at Shpigel & Associates, P.C. in New York City, a role she commenced in 2014. In her position, she represents privately held entities and individuals in a wide range of commercial litigation matters before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and in arbitration. Notably, Ms. Shpigel was listed among the Top 50 Attorneys of 2019 in Top 100 Magazine, attributing her success to the influence and inspiration of her mother, Yevgeniya, who was an engineer with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Presently, she holds membership with the New York City Bar Association and Psi Chi. Looking ahead, Ms. Shpigel aims to expand her law firm and devote more time to volunteering and charity work. She is currently working on litigation against oligarchs in the former Soviet Union.
