Georgeanna “Gigi” Gardner, Esq., Principal Attorney at Gardner Law, PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in immigration law.
Since 2013, Ms. Gardner has been the principal and managing attorney at Gardner Law, PLLC, where she specializes in immigration law in addition to handling the majority of the business aspects of the practice. The daughter of a state trooper, Ms. Gardner grew up around law enforcement, learning at a young age that authority went hand in hand with responsibility and that abuse of power was all too common. As she grew up, Ms. Gardner’s community saw an influx of Hispanic and Latin American migrants, inspiring her to study and become fluent in Spanish, and she dreamed of becoming a judge or attorney to defend the rights of others like the new residents of her area. Ms. Gardner earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before traveling to Costa Rica to teach English, where her passion for immigration law was strengthened.
Ms. Gardner was awarded her Juris Doctor in 2009 by the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and began practicing as an associate of Nunley & Associates, PLLC. She remained with the practice until 2012 and spent a year with Batch Poore & Williams, PC, leaving to establish Gardner Law, PLLC, the following year. Gardner Law, PLLC, is women-owned small business certified, and Ms. Gardner has garnered significant attention for her work in immigration since early in her career. She holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent peer rating, was elected to Business North Carolina Magazine’s Legal Elite Hall of Fame in Immigration Law and named a Super Lawyers North Carolina Rising Star in Immigration Law. Ms. Gardner is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the Wake County Bar Association, and she serves as the vice-treasurer of the local chapter of the nonprofit One Blood Movement of Unity.
Within five years, Ms. Gardner hopes to open more offices both within the region and throughout Latin America and Asia. Ms. Gardner attributes her success to following her heart and her gut and doing what she loves and plans to continue learning and practicing for as long as she is able. She lives by the Golden Rule: to treat others as she would like to be treated, and strives to offer high-quality legal representation and a broad range of options to people who hope to immigrate to the United States.
