Schlacks from 1996 to 1999, as well as Schlacks, Harrison & Cox PLLC from 1999 to 2003. Earlier, Mr. Schlacks was a partner at Hope, Causey & Schlacks, Professional Corporation in Conroe, Texas from 1992 to 1996 and an associate attorney at Wetzel & Associates in The Woodlands, Texas from 1986 to 1992. In his first professional role, he worked in management for Johnson & Johnson Products, Inc. in Sherman, Texas from 1978 to 1984.
Mr. Schlacks received a Bachelor of Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1978 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas in 1982. Later, he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University in 1986 and was subsequently admitted to the Texas Bar. Today, he is certified to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition, he is board-certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Finding great success throughout the course of his career, Mr. Schlacks has held an AV Preeminent Lawyer Rating by Martindale-Hubbell for 25 years, beginning in 1994. Additionally, he was the recipient of the Baylor Law Wives Award in 1986, having also been a Leon Jaworski Scholar in 1984 and a Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Scholar in 1986. A fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, he has also been president of The Woodlands Kiwanis Charity/Administrative Board and Special Olympics sponsor from 2006 to 2008.
