With eight years of experience to her credit in this role, she is uniquely positioned to oversee all litigation involving the port through her specialization in environmental issues and real estate law. Likewise active as a member of California’s Little Hoover Commission, she previously served as a deputy city attorney to the Los Angeles city attorney from 2003 until 2013, an assistant U.S. attorney and the deputy director of both the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women and press scheduling for the White House.
Among her many career accomplishments, Ms. Sidley is most proud to have spent much of her career in government service, through which she has contributed prolifically on behalf of the citizens of Los Angeles. In accounting for her standout success, she credits her propensity for hard work and diligence in lifting the fortunes of her employees. For her efforts, she was profiled by the Los Angeles Daily Journal and honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Moreover, Ms. Sidley was recognized among the Lawyers of Distinction in 2020 and received an award for in-house counsel in 2019.
Ms. Sidley originally drew inspiration from the example of her father, who practiced in the field of medical malpractice and real estate law. Driven to distinguish herself as a woman in law, she studied at the University of California Berkeley and the Loyola Law School, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, respectively. Eminently qualified in her field, Ms. Sidley is a member of the Pacific Council, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the environmental division at the California State Bar.
