Ms. Feder enjoyed a fulfilling career in legal service that spanned for more than a decade, having first become interested in practicing law while coming of age. Prior to earning admission to practice, she served as a legal intern on behalf of the United States International Trade Commission, an agency that provides its expertise in trade matters to both the legislative and executive branches of the federal government. Following this period, Ms. Feder undertook a legislative assistant internship with Florida Congresswoman Ilena Ros-Lehtinen in 1995.

Before venturing onto her vocational path, Ms. Feder sought a formal education at the University of California Los Angeles, from which she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1980. Pivoting towards the study of law in the subsequent decade, she attended Southwestern University, where she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1991. She concluded her academic efforts in 1993, having graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Laws. Ms. Feder was admitted to practice law by the state of California in 1991, by the District of Columbia in 1994 and before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1995.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Feder volunteered on behalf of the presidential campaign of Al Gore and his running mate, Joe Lieberman, in 2000. She also participated in initiatives run by the American Liver Foundation between 2011 and 2012. Outside of her vocational circles, Ms. Feder is a member of various organizations, including the British American Business Council, the British American Film Academy, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce and the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce.
