Ms. Milone instinctively gravitated toward the field of law upon the encouragement of her mother, who advised her to break the gender barriers and pursue a profession that was not traditional for women in the 1970s and 1980s. Attending the City University of New York, Bernard M. Baruch College, she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1979 before earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the School of Law at Fordham University in 1989. Upon being admitted to the State Bars of Connecticut and New York, she commenced her career as an associate at several firms, including Bender & Bodnar; Gassman, Fisher & Fass; Reisman, Pierez, et al.; and Hoffinger, Friedland, Dobrish & Stern between 1989 and 2000. Since 2000, Ms. Milone has excelled as a partner of BodnarMilone LLP.
Specializing within the areas of matrimonial and family law, Ms. Milone holds a premier reputation in her profession and was named Best Lawyers 2020 Lawyer of the Year within her designated areas of practice. Contributing her expertise to written works as well, she has authored myriad articles in such law journals as the Fordham International Law Journal and the Family Law Review of the New York State Bar Association. Additionally, she served as editor-in-chief of the Domestic Law Review. Alongside her primary endeavors, Ms. Milone is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, having formerly served on their board of managers and as vice president of their New York chapter. Furthermore, she is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Westchester County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. As a testament to her success, Ms. Milone was the recipient of the 2019 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has been highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
