From there, Ms. Simon was admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and soon relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in 1980. In the latter stages of her career, Ms. Simon served United Technologies Automotive, Inc., as vice president of planning, general counsel, vice president of business development and legal affairs, and vice president of Asian business development until departing in 1998.
