Wesley E. Forte, Retired Executive Vice President and General Counsel at USLIFE Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.

Leveraging his desire to become an attorney from a formative age, Mr. Forte attended Clark University and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1956. From there, he matriculated in New York University and obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Laws in 1959 and 1965, respectively. Upon receiving his law degree, he was admitted to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania in 1960, followed by admittance to practice in the State of Ohio in 1972, the State of Texas in 1974, the District of Columbia in 1975 and the State of New York in 1980. Furthermore, he was admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1972.

At the inception of his career in 1959, Mr. Forte served as an attorney with Dechert, Price & Rhoads in Philadelphia for three years before becoming an attorney within the corporate law department of Standards Brands, Inc., in New York in 1962. Remaining with the corporation until 1966, he went on to serve Borden, Inc., as an attorney in the Foods Division Counsel for five years, followed by an additional year as senior counsel of domestic operations. From 1972 to 1973, Mr. Forte was the senior vice president of legal affairs at Campbell-Taggart, Inc., in Dallas, and from 1973 to 1979, served Campbell-Taggart as executive vice president, general counsel and director.

Mr. Forte joined USLIFE Corporation in New York in 1979 as senior vice president of law. Remaining in that position until 1985, he was then promoted to the rank of executive vice president and general counsel, where he remained until his retirement in 1997. Overall, he accrued nearly 40 years of excellence within his field.

Mr. Forte attributes his success to his diligent work ethic and the encouragement of his family, particularly his mother who wanted to watch her son attend college. Notably, Mr. Forte was the first member of his family to attend and graduate from college. As a testament to his resounding success in the industry, he has been highlighted in several Who’s Who publications, including Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in the World.
