Michael Cetina, Partner at Walsh, Knippen & Cetina Chartered Attorneys at Law, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in personal injury law.
For as long as he can remember, Mr. Cetina has wanted to help others, which is what inspired him to become a lawyer. After graduating from high school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Grinnell College. Three years later, he acquired a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Shortly thereafter, he was certified to practice law by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Cetina began his career as a prosecutor for the DuPage County State’s Attorney. In the years that followed, he became an insurance defense attorney for Hinshaw, Culbertson, Moelman, Hoban & Fuller, where he remained until 1990. That year, Mr. Cetina became a partner at Connolly, Eki & Williams, PC. From there, he relocated to Cetina & Moreschi, PC, and, later, Cetina & Jacques, PC. Up until his passing in November 2020, Mr. Cetina excelled as a partner at Walsh, Knipped & Cetina Chartered Attorneys at Law, where he had been since 2017. Further, Mr. Cetina also served as an adjunct professor for the College of DuPage.
As a testament to Mr. Cetina’s professional success, he earned an AV-preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell consecutively for 20 years. Likewise, he was listed among the Leading Lawyers in 2017 and 2019, as well as the Nation’s Top Lawyers from 2015 until 2017. He was an active member of his field and maintained affiliation with multiple professional organizations. These include the Justinian Society, the American Association for Justice and the DuPage County Bar Association, among others. Prior to his passing, he reflected on his various accomplishments and attributed his success to being a man of his word.
