John P. Crampton, Partner, Lawyer and Of Counsel at Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish, and Kauffman, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in estate and trust law.
As Mr. Crampton grew up, he gradually discovered that he was an exceptionally good listener. He often listened to his family members and when he overheard their discussion regarding a will content they entered, he became interested in estate and trust law. In 1963, Mr. Crampton earned a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College, going on to acquire a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Villanova University three years later. In the years that followed, he was certified to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania, as well as by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Tax Court.
In 1967, Mr. Crampton commenced his career as an associate at McKinley, Anthony, and Evert in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From there, he relocated to the law firm in 1972, now known as Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish, and Kauffman, subsequently becoming a partner shortly thereafter. Mr. Crampton continues to work at this law firm, excelling as of counsel. Starting in 1966 through 1990, Mr. Crampton was a JAG officer in the Air National Guard with a tactical fighter wing where he rose through the ranks to retire as a lieutenant colonel in 1990. When Mr. Crampton is relaxing, he enjoys playing baroque music on the organ in his home, being a gentleman farmer and playing with the animals that tenants keep in his stables. As a testament to his success, he is featured in the 46th and 47th editions of Who”s Who in America.
