While he was living in France, Mr. Zerbib viewed the film “The Verdict” starring Paul Newman, who played a personal injury lawyer that faced various personal troubles. Touched by the film’s storyline, he desired to bring justice in a concrete manner similar to the ways of the main character, which he carried with him for the rest of his profession. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence in international and corporate law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas in 1992. In 1996, Mr. Zerbib obtained a Master of Laws in international and comparative law from the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
In 2009, Mr. Zerbib began his career as a contract attorney in environmental litigation for Patton Boggs LLP and as a media officer focused on international legal matter for the United Nations. Between 2009 and 2011, he served as a contract attorney for Weil Gotshal and Manges in compliance and pre-merger filing for a major hedge fund as well as for Quinn Emanuel in complex litigation related to asset-backed securities for a major underwriter, while also conducting surgical mesh multi-district litigation in a French and English discovery context. He later accepted a position as a contract compliance attorney with Arnold & Porter in 2011, for which he worked on a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation in Portuguese for a subsidiary of a Brazilian Fortune 500 company. Pivoting to a realm outside of the legal field, Mr. Zerbib excelled in his role as the chief executive officer of Tribeca Vini in New York City since 2014.
Throughout his illustrious career specializing in international litigation arbitration, Mr. Zerbib attributes his success to his knowledge of foreign languages. In the coming years, he plans to expand upon his skills and venture beyond his practices into the field of business. He also hopes to write his own book in order to share and inspire others about his eclectic work. His advice to aspiring legal professionals is to be extremely motivated, disciplined resilient and open-minded, as there will be other people in your path that will challenge your confidence and work. He additionally advises to continue improving in each case and utilize colleagues’ skillsets. Likewise, his words to fellow immigrants is to never let go of your dreams and never allow giving up to be an option. In his spare time, Mr. Zerbib enjoys great wine and growing as a person.
