Seeking a career in the workplace issues and labor-management relations industry, Mr. Symonette enrolled at Swarthmore College after graduating from high school. By 1976, he acquired a Bachelor of Arts in political science, going on to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Villanova University School of Law in 1979. He felt a career in law could provide him with the opportunity to do the work he had always wanted to do. He proceeded to become certified to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, as well as before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court.
In 1981, Mr. Symonette commenced his career as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board. In the following years, he gained experience with the Atlantic Richfield Company, the Atlantic Refining and Marketing Corp. and the Widener University School of Law, where he served as an adjunct professor. Today, Mr. Symonette excels as the president and arbitrator at Symonette ADR Services, Inc. As a testament to his success, he has been recognized as one of the Top Attorneys in Pennsylvania in the Super Lawyers Section of the Philadelphia Magazine consistently from 2008 until 2020. Likewise, in 2014, he earned the Peggy Browning Fund Award. Mr. Symonette attributes much of his success to the positive influence of his family and the people around him. Looking toward the future, he is hoping to consult more in his industry and explore every opportunity that comes his way.
