John B. Campbell, Managing Partner at Campbell Law Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil litigation.
Upon joining the military at the suggestion of his father, Mr. Campbell petitioned the ROTC at Harvard University to take him, which allowed him to earn a degree in psychology in 1970. Shortly thereafter, he applied to the JAG Corp and was admitted to Boston College Law School, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1973. Mr. Campbell was a lieutenant with the JAGS Corp from 1973 to 1977, specializing in criminal litigation, as well as handling 195 court-martial cases in the 13 months he was with the U.S. Navy as a defense attorney. Notably, he served with the Marine Corps in Southeast Asia and with the U.S. Navy in San Diego. Outside of his military career, Mr. Campbell was a partner of Sullivan & Jones from 1977 to 1983 and a founding partner of Hughes & Campbell from 1983 to 1990. He has excelled as a managing partner of the Campbell Group since 1990, along with his most recent position as of counsel for Hoffman & Forde since 2020.
An experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Campbell has extensive experience in civil litigation involving personal injuries, real estate and business disputes. He has personally tried more than 250 civil and criminal trials to completion and is admitted to practice before all of the Federal Courts in California and Nevada. Renowned for his work, Mr. Campbell is AV-Preeminent Rated by Martindale Hubbell and was named a Top Lawyer in San Diego for Highest in Ethical Standards and Professional Excellence in 2013. Presently, he holds membership with the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, Association of Southern California Defense Lawyers, San Diego Defense Lawyers, San Diego County Bar Association and State Bar of California. Looking toward the future, Mr. Campbell would like to have his book published and move to Japan to help produce and consultant on an upcoming series.
