Francis Muzingu Ssekandi, Esq., Attorney-at-Law at International Projects Management Associates LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
As a student, Mr. Ssekandi found that he had a knack for debating others. Looking for a career path to match his talents, when he discovered the field of law he knew it was his destiny to pursue it to the best of his ability. In 1965, he earned a Bachelor of Law, with honors, and went on to earn a Master of Laws from the Columbia University Law School one year later. In 1968, he commenced his career as a state attorney for the Uganda Ministry of Justice. Remaining there until 1972, Mr. Ssekandi proceeded to hone his skills with several established firms, including the Supreme Court of Uganda, the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs and the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Liberia. Later, from 2007 until 2013, he excelled as a judge with the World Bank Administrative Tribunal. Today, Mr. Ssekandi demonstrates consistent success as a representative of Equatorial Guinea and counsel at the United States District Court.
Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Ssekandi is a published author. His most recent work, “Endangered Discontent: The International Criminal Court in Africa,” was featured in the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs in 2017. He has additionally written for a number of prominent publications, including the New York Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law and the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. As a testament to his professional success, Mr. Ssekandi earned the Distinguished Alumni Leadership Award from the Black Law Association. Looking toward the future, he plans to remain active in the international community and continue to explore his intellectual interests for as long as possible. When Mr. Ssekandi is not working, he enjoys playing tennis and ping-pong.
