Title: Trial Lawyer

Location: Galveston, Texas, United States
Mark A. Metzger lll, Trial Lawyer at The Metzger Law Firm, PLLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in trial law.
Mr. Metzger became involved in his profession by making a bet. It was a choice of either law school or medical school and his girlfriend at the time did not think he was smart enough to go to law school. He took the LSAT, passed and proved her wrong. He chose his specific area of law because he wanted to engage with the layman and the everyday person because that’s who decides whether you go to prison or not. Talking to lawyers was not exciting and talking to a judge only told him what he already knew, but talking to the people was a learning experience. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Texas A&M University in 2009. He then received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the South Texas College of Law in 2012.
Mr. Metzger attributes his career success to self-discipline and integrity. Before embarking on his career, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1999, remaining until 2007. While in the service, he was an intelligence analyst from 2000 to 2004. In 2006, he became a welder and motorcycle mechanic at House of Metz Custom Fabrication, remaining until 2013. During that time, he was also a law clerk and associate trial attorney at the DWI Law Firm from 2011 to 2015. For the next year, he was a trial lawyer and mediator at Hill & Hill PC. Since 2015, he has been a trial lawyer at The Metzger Law Firm, PLLC. As a testament to his success, Mr. Metzger was inducted as a member of the Marine Corps League, DUI Defense Lawyers Association, Delta Theta Phi, Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association, Houston Bar Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer Association and National College for DUI Defense.
