Before embarking on his professional career, Mr. Mattson pursued a formal education at Michigan State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in 1998. He later earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School of Western Michigan University in 2006. Additionally, Mr. Mattson was certified in facilitative mediation through the State Court Administrative Office, the administrative agency of the Michigan Supreme Court.
With more than 10 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Mattson has most recently found success as an attorney at the Law Offices of Ernest Friedman. Prior to this appointment, he served as an attorney at his own private practice from 2006 to 2019, having previously completed an internship at the 44th Circuit Court and the Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. In a career filled with many highlights, Mr. Mattson is most proud of winning verdicts for numerous trials.
A respected voice in the field, Mr. Mattson is the author of “Evidentiary Issue in Social Media” in LACHES which is the official publication of the Oakland County Bar Association, in 2019. In an effort to remain aware of changes in the field, he maintains affiliation with the Oakland County Bar Association. Civically, he remains active with the Knights of Columbus for which he served in various officer levels within the past decade. In the coming years, Mr. Mattson would like to continue trying cases in court, as he is not afraid of taking things to trial. He would like to continue practicing law in this way.
