Benjamin D. Mooneyham, Associate Attorney at GM Law PC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in general litigation.
A graduate of Kansas State University, Mr. Mooneyham initially earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and philosophy. Soon thereafter, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Chicago Law School. Mr. Mooneyham was later admitted to practice law in Missouri, Kansas and Illinois, as well as before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas.
At the beginning of his career, Mr. Mooneyham completed a clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. After serving as an associate at Reed Smith LLP, he later became appointed as an associate attorney at GM Law. His present responsibilities include being heavily involved with each case, evaluations, pleadings, drafting motions and analyzing discovery. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Mooneyham has been incredibly proud of a trade secret breach of contract case on which he worked that ended with the judge granting a settlement for the public amount of $10.1 million dollars.
Outside of his primary professional duties, Mr. Mooneyham also excelled as a member of the editorial board of the University of Chicago Law Review. He has attributed his professional success to several of his mentors, who guided and encouraged him from strength to strength. During his clerkship, he trained under many judges and senior attorneys. In an effort to remain knowledgeable of changes in the field, he maintains his affiliation with the Christ Community Church, the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Johnson County Bar Association and the Federalist Society. In the coming years, Mr. Mooneyham plans to become a partner and gain more firsthand experience with trials.
