Katherine L. Maloney, Equity Partner at Rathbun Cservenyak & Kozol, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in litigation and family law.

Building off a Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Northern Illinois University, Ms. Maloney enrolled at the George Washington University School of Law to further her education. In 1994, she attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence, which provided her with the necessary foundation on which to begin her career. Though she initially wanted to work as an international lawyer, Ms. Maloney chose to stay close to her parents after graduating from law school. In 1994, she began working as an attorney. In this role, she quickly excelled, being hired by Rathbun Cservenyak & Kozol in 2000. Three years later, she became an equity partner. Ms. Maloney remains in this role today, continuing to demonstrate success on each case she takes on.

Reflecting on her professional success, Ms. Maloney credits her mother, Diane R. Maloney, who was very instrumental in her upbringing and served as a constant inspiration. Listed among the Top 10 Best Attorneys by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys, Ms. Maloney has been abundantly awarded in recognition of her accomplishments. In 1990, she earned the Equal Access to Justice Award, which was later accompanied by the Marketing Department’s Outstanding Leadership Award and the Pro Bono Award for all of Will County.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Maloney hopes to continue her work in high-end litigations for the next five to 10 years. However, she plans to decrease her workload and gradually take on less responsibility as she nears retirement. Likewise, she hopes to see her daughter graduate from college. When Ms. Maloney is not working, she enjoys hiking, camping, motorcycle riding and hunting. She additionally loves to travel internationally, which she hopes to do more often once she is retired.
