Robert C. Gottlieb, Managing Partner at Gottileb & Janey LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in criminal law.
A graduate of Cornell University, Mr. Gottlieb initially earned Bachelor of Science in industrial and labor relations. Soon thereafter, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from New York University School of Law and was admitted to practice law by the New York State Bar Association. Mr. Gottlieb has additionally represented cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and Second Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
At the beginning of his career, Mr. Gottlieb served as an assistant district attorney in New York City under Robert Morgenthau. He currently contributes as the founder of Gottlieb and Janey LLP, with which his team focuses on criminal law, including appeals, in both federal and state courts throughout the country. As a respected voice in his field, he frequently lectures on criminal law issues for state and national bar associations and he is a frequent author of articles in legal periodicals and the New York Law Journal. In addition to working as an adjunct professor in trial practice at Touro College and the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, as well as maintaining his involvement as a faculty member for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, Mr. Gottlieb has also published numerous articles on complex and important criminal law issues.
In light of his numerous achievements in the field, Mr. Gottlieb has been recognized as a Super Lawyer, a New York Super Lawyer and as an INBLF Criminal Defense Attorney and White Collar Defense Attorney for New York. He was also honored with an AVVO Top Rating and an AV-rated Attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, among other accolades. In the coming years, Mr. Gottlieb hopes to continue practicing law.
