Title: Managing Partner
Company: The Wilbers Law Firm
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
John L. Wilbers, Managing Partner at the Wilbers Law Firm, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyer for dedication, achievements, and leadership in personal injury law.
For nearly 20 years, Mr. Wilbers has been a passionate advocate for plaintiffs in personal injury, liability, and worker’s compensation suits. An alumnus of the University of Missouri, he holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor, and he was awarded a fellowship to study at the Bryce Harlow Institute on Business and Government Affairs at Georgetown University. After completing law school, Mr. Wilbers was unsure whether he wanted to practice law or pursue a career in investment banking, hoping to find a career path full of strong intellectual challenges and opportunities to give back.
Mr. Wilbers was recruited by a nationally-recognized personal injury plaintiff’s firm, where he spent the next four years representing injured railroad workers under federal statutes, developing the foundations of his current practice. In 2008, he became a partner of the Wilbers Law Firm, where he has argued precedent-setting liability cases including a settlement following a duck boat accident that became the basis of a groundbreaking new defective products statute. Mr. Wilbers was named one of Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s 2015 Up and Coming Attorneys and has been a Missouri Super Lawyer each year since 2017, distinguishing him as one of the top 2.5% of attorneys in practice.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Wilbers is the founder of Blue Arrow Botanicals, a family-owned medical cannabis venture based in St. Louis. As a part of his commitment to service, Mr. Wilbers sits on the board of directors of the Soulard School and volunteers with the Hayti, Missouri Outreach Center, the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, and St. Louis County’s Adopt A Family project. An advocate for the advancement of the legal profession, Mr. Wilbers is an active member of the Missouri, Illinois, and Montana Bar Associations and the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and he hopes to expand his practice to include offices in Kansas City and Chicago in the coming years.
