Robert Shoemaker, Retired Lawyer at Lindsay, Hart, Neal, and Weigler, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business and real estate law.

During his high school years, Mr. Shoemaker contemplated what profession he could envision himself exceling in for the decades to come. Taking into consideration his skill sets and passions, he eventually settled on law. Admitted to Harvard Law School, Mr. Shoemaker achieved a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1958, and the rest was history. Upon his graduation from Harvard Law, he worked in a private practice and moved on to serve numerous law firms throughout the Portland, Oregon area as a partner. Looking back on his career trajectory, he recalls his most notable achievement was contributing to “death with dignity” provisions, which are now instilled in the law.

For 20 years, Mr. Shoemaker served as a lawyer at Lindsay, Hart, Neal, and Weigler in Portland, Oregon. In those two decades, he specialized his practice in business and real estate law prior to his official retirement. Likewise, he had also been involved in public affairs, serving as president of various local associations engaged in public affairs. Mr. Shoemaker continues to remain involved in the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and he attributes his immense career success to being diligent. Finding leadership in his work has been one of the most rewarding aspects of his career, along with fighting for the people that need it most. In his spare time, Mr. Shoemaker enjoys spending quality time with his four children and eight grandchildren.
