William L. Norton III, Partner at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business bankruptcy.

Mr. Norton attended Vanderbilt University on a Navy ROTC Scholarship and then served four years as a Navy Officer.  After the Navy, he returned to Vanderbilt University earning a JD degree in 1982.

Mr. Norton joined Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, Nashville, TN in 1984 to focus his practice on bankruptcy law.  Since then, Mr. Norton has been recognized as a capable expert in bankruptcy law.  He has been selected as a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy Lawyers, is a certified specialist on bankruptcy law by the American Bankruptcy Certification, and has held the position of Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University Law School since 1999.  Mr. Norton continues to follow in his father’s footsteps by being Editor in Chief of Norton Bankruptcy Law and Practice 3d and other bankruptcy law publications published by Thomson Reuters.  Since 1986, Mr. Norton has been actively involved in conducting bankruptcy law seminars as the seminar manager at Norton Institutes on Bankruptcy Law, and in this role, he has managed over 100 nationally recognized seminars. In recognition of his success, Mr. Norton received the 2016 Outstanding Turnaround Professional Award from the Tennessee Turnaround Management Association.

Mr. Norton is also a Rule 31 mediator in the state of Tennessee. He served as Board Chair for the National Conflict Resolution Center for ten years and is currently active in providing mediation services for that non-profit organization and is otherwise active in providing volunteer services in Nashville, TN for the Downtown Nashville Rotary Club, American Red Cross, and West End United Methodist Church.
