George D. Gould, Esq., Senior Attorney and Of Counsel at Community Legal Services, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Inspired by his uncle, who was an exceptional attorney, Mr. Gould desired a career in law from a young age. When it came time for him to pursue a formal education, he enrolled at Muhlenberg College. During his time there, he prioritized learning about the issues of low-income individuals and figuring out exactly how to help them. In 1965, Mr. Gould graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science. Five years later, he had acquired a Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law. Immediately following his departure from law school, Mr. Gould began his career as the Reginald Herber Smith Fellow at Community Legal Services. Proving himself to be an excellent asset to the firm, he climbed the ranks and became managing attorney before becoming an of counsel senior attorney in 2019. He continues to excel in this role today.
Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Gould has been abundantly awarded. In 2011, he earned the David Bryson Award from the National Housing Law Project. Earlier, in 2001, he was presented with the Striving Toward Excellence Award from Pennsylvania Legal Services, going on to be listed among the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in 2009. Most recently, in 2019, Mr. Gould earned the Gerry Bolton Environmental Justice Award from Clean Water Action. A member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, he attributes his success to being consistently motivated to work hard. Looking toward the future, Mr. Gould hopes to remain in good health, as well as continue working and volunteering.
