Todd R. McEldowney, Partner at O’Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. Attorneys at Law, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in personal injury law.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science, with highest honors, from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 1977, Mr. McEldowney went on to achieve a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Marquette University in 1980. Admitted to practice in Wisconsin, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western District Courts of Wisconsin, he has now accrued 40 notable years of professional expertise in law. Since 1980, he has served as a partner at O’Melia, Schiek & McEldowney in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, where he specializes in personal injury, litigation, divorce, Social Security disability and workers’ compensation. Looking back on his illustrious career, Mr. McEldowney recalls his most memorable case to be winning a multi-million dollar settlement against Nissan Motors for a crashworthiness case involving a quadriplegic.
Outside of his professional duties, Mr. McEldowney is an active member of his local community. Serving as president of the Rhinelander Police and Fire Commission since 2002, he has also been a member of the Oneida County Highway Safety Commission, Optimists Club and Lions Club. From 1976 to 2004, he was a member of the Rhinelander Basketball League, as well as the Rhinelander Basketball Association, of which he was president in 1991. More recently, from 2003 to 2005, he was the executive director of the Hodag Facilities Foundation. Actively involved in sports, Mr. McEldowney has officiated nine state tournaments and three state finals for high school basketball, along with 13 state tournaments and five state finals for high school volleyball. Today, he maintains professional affiliation with the Defense Research Institute, Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers, American Judicial Society, Oneida-Vilas-Forest County Bar Association and Association of Defense Trial Attorneys. To attest to his legacy, Mr. McEldowney can also be found in various editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
