Gladys Nehikhare Daniels, Managing Attorney at The Daniels Legal Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in immigration and environmental law.
Growing up, Ms. Daniels was mesmerized by female lawyers and their plethora of knowledge. Coming from a country where the rule of law could be bought and justice was based on wealth, she chose to wait to pursue law until immigrating to the United States. Having now accrued more than 20 years in the legal profession, Ms. Daniels has notably served The Daniels Legal Group in Houston as managing attorney since 2019 and principal attorney since 2000. Well-rounded in her role, she specializes in immigration, international energy transactions, oil and gas disputes, criminal defense, family law, and business law. Prior to her current roles, Ms. Daniel served as legal counsel to Saturn Oil and Gas from 2004 to 2013 and as a contract attorney for El Paso Energy from 1999 to 2000.
Ms. Daniels received a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in her native Nigeria before embarking on her legal career. Upon her arrival to the U.S. in 1995, she attended the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law where she achieved a Doctor of Jurisprudence, summa cum laude. She went on to obtain a Master of Laws in energy, environment, and natural resources law, with honors, from the University of Houston Law Center. Concurrently, she gained experience as an intern prosecutor in the District Attorney’s Office of Fort Bend County, Texas. Ms. Daniels became licensed to practice law in the state of Texas in 2000, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas, Texas Court of Appeals and Texas Supreme Court.
Finding great success in her work, Ms. Daniels was listed to Family Lawyers in 2006 and 2007, as well as Martindale-Hubbell. While her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have guided her clients closer toward the American dream. Starting as a solo practitioner, Ms. Daniels has grown her practice to have six locations, two associates, and 12 support staff members. To remain abreast of advances and changes in her industry, she maintains affiliation with the International Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and the American Immigration Law Association. As a testament to her legacy, Ms. Daniels can also be found in the 66th and 70th editions of Who’s Who in America and the 18th and 19th editions of Who’s Who in American Law.
