Dan R. Hyatt, Retired Judge, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in adjudication.
Backed by a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon, Mr. Hyatt attended Lewis & Clark College in pursuit of a Juris Doctor. In 1978, he acquired the degree and was consequently certified to practice law in the state of Oregon. In the years that followed, he was certified by the United States Court of Military Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Supreme Court.
In 1978, Mr. Hyatt began his career as a partner at Hyatt, Jackson, and Vause in Portland, Oregon. Later, from 1983 until 1984, he served as senior defense counsel for the United States Navy in Guam. Working for the Department of Justice from 1984 until 1985, Mr. Hyatt went on to pursue military law and homicide defense in private practice from 1985 until 1997. That year, he became a judge in United States Administrative Law. Mr. Hyatt excelled there for over ten years, returning to work as a part-time attorney in private practice in 2014, where he remains today. As a testament to his professional success, he is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World.
