Harry M. Reasoner, Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for his dedication, achievements, and leadership.
In 1960, Mr. Reasoner graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. Two years later, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas, going on to complete postgraduate coursework at the London School of Economics. Shortly thereafter, he was certified to practice law in the state of Texas and the District of Columbia. Later, in 2000, Mr. Reasoner was certified in the state of New York.
Mr. Reasoner began his career as a law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He then became an associate at Vinson & Elkins in Hawkins, Texas. By 1970, Mr. Reasoner proved himself to be a well-rounded lawyer and took on the role of partner. He remains in that role today, though he spent 1992 until 2001 as the managing partner. Outside of his primary endeavors, Mr. Reasoner is on the board advisory for the Baker Institute of Public Policy at Rice University. Further, he is active as the chair for the Texas Access to Justice Commission for the Supreme Court of Texas.
As a testament to his success, Mr. Reasoner earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Anti-Defamation League in 2016. In 2012, he was the recipient of the Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award from the Texas Bar Foundation. Earlier, in 2009, he earned the Lifetime Achievement Award from American Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Reasoner additionally holds the title of Distinguished Alumnus at Rice University, the University of Texas Law School, and the University of Texas. In light of his accomplishments, he is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Who’s Who in the World.
