Cynthia M. Lummis, United States Representative from Wyoming, Former State Official, and Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Growing up with a father who was involved in local government, Ms. Lummis longed to pursue a legal career from an early age. When it came time to pursue a formal education, she attended the University of Wyoming. In 1976, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in animal science. She proceeded to remain there and further her education, going on to earn a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1978. Ms. Lummis later returned to school and earned a Juris Doctor in 1985. In the years that followed, she was certified to practice law in the state of Wyoming, as well as the 10th Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals and the United States District Court of Wyoming.
In 1979, Ms. Lummis began her career as a member of the Wyoming House of Representatives. She remained there until 1993, taking on the role of a law clerk at the Wyoming Supreme Court in 1985. Her first venture as a lawyer presented itself at Wiederspahn, Lummis, & Liepas Professional Corporation. In 1986, she was hired as an associate and excelled at the practice until 1995, exiting as a partner. After gaining more experience through roles within the Wyoming State Senate, Ms. Lummis became a member-at-large and the United States Congress Representative for the United States House in Wyoming. She demonstrated consistent success until 2017 when she retired. As a testament to her success, Ms. Lummis is featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in American Politics, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who of American Women.
