At the start of her career, Ms. Soto flourished as a first-grade educator and a middle school Spanish teacher. After serving as a teacher and a principal for three Houston-area school districts, she decided she wanted to do more to serve students on a larger scale. With these intentions, Ms. Soto chose to pursue a career in law and later graduated from South Texas College with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2010. Soon thereafter, she was admitted to practice law in the State of Texas, the U.S. District Court and the Southern District of Texas.
Most recently in her career, Ms. Soto has excelled as an attorney at law with Susan Soto Law, PLLC where she specializes in education law. A respected voice in the field, she is the author of, “The Ugly Business of Bullying,” as well as, “A Parents Guide to Working with School Districts to Resolve Conflict Involving Unique Needs of LGBTQ Students,” for the Houston Bar Association Journal. She has also contributed to various other professional articles and journals in the field. Upon her civic duties, Ms. Soto devotes her time as a member of the Stafford-Missouri City Lions Club, the Woman’s Club of Missouri City, the Quail Valley Quails and the Thunderbird North Community Association.
For her outstanding contributions to her field, Ms. Soto has received the Outstanding New Member Award from the Houston Lawyer Referral Service. Additionally, she has been honored as a Top Lawyer by the Houstonia Magazine. In five years’ time, Ms. Soto plans to continue to grow her law practice in order to help more teachers, parents and students get the proper education and justice they deserve.
