Erika Riggs, Partner at Disability Law Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in disability law.
Although nobody else in Ms. Riggs’ family worked in the law, she always knew she wanted to become a lawyer. In the years after earning a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wayne State University, she acquired a Juris Doctor from the Wayne State University Law School. In 2010, she was certified as a civic mediator and later earned accreditation to practice from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. After gaining experience as a student attorney and research assistant at Wayne State University, she was hired as a law clerk at the Disability Attorneys of Michigan. For Ms. Riggs, this was the first step on her journey to professional success. In 2019, after holding the title of attorney for seven years, she became a partner at the Disability Law Group in Troy, Michigan. She remains in that position today, specializing in all areas of disability law.
Ms. Riggs attributes her success to a wonderful team, including the staff and partners at her practice who make her work easy and rewarding. She additionally credits her loving husband, as he cares for their children when she is too busy to do so. In light of her professional success, she has been generously lauded, the most recent addition being the SuperLawyers Rising Star Award, which she earned in 2019. Looking toward the future, Ms. Riggs plans on continuing to provide wonderful representation to her clients by doing everything she can to give them the support they need.
