Julie Pleshivoy, Senior counsel at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in tax and estate planning.
In high school, Ms. Pleshivoy took a business law class, and she fell in love with the analytical process of it. She enjoyed figuring out various ways to help people and creating order in different aspects of life. A graduate of the University of Chicago, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1998. She further received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2003. Moreover, Ms. Pleshivoy concluded her academic efforts with a Master of Laws from the aforementioned institution in 2006.
At the start of her career, Ms. Pleshivoy worked as a summer intern at Thompson, Coburn, Fagel & Haber law firm between 2002 and 2005. Soon thereafter, she joined Neal, Gerber & Eisenburg LLP as an associate in estate planning and taxes, for four years. Subsequently, Ms. Pleshivoy assumed employment at Gould & Rather as a tax attorney from 2009 to 2012. Between 2012 and 2018, she held the title of partner at Sugar, Felsenthal Grais & Helsinger. Since 2018, Ms. Pleshivoy has excelled as the senior counsel of tax and estate planning at Taft, Stettininus & Hollister LLP.
With her current firm, Ms. Pleshivoy’s primary focus is tax estate planning. Her responsibilities include advising clients through business succession, planning for retirement, and charitable planning. Additionally, she assists in customizing estate plans for high net worth individuals and families. Ms. Pleshivoy attributes her success to constantly challenging herself and always learning new things. Looking to the future, she hopes to continue the work that she loves while growing her business tremendously.
