A retired colonel of the United States Air Force, Dr. Fetterman served from 1972 to 2004. Alongside his military pursuits, he has also been heavily involved in academia and law, having served as an instructor of accounting and business law at South University since 2010. Likewise, he has maintained involvement with such law firms as Fetterman & Zitani P.A., James C. Fetterman P.A., and Borzo Fetterman & Sardelis. Previously, he taught at St. Louis University, Jackson State University, Argosy University and King University.
In light of his success, Dr. Fetterman earned the Distinguished Commissioner Award in 212, St. George Award in 2008, and Venturing Leadership Award from the Boy Scouts of America in 2006. Named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America by the Jaycees in 1982, he also was honored as an Outstanding Mobilization Augmentee from the JAG Department of the U.S. Air Force in 1986.
