Colleen Duffy Kiko, Esq., Chairman at Federal Labor Relations, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in government relations.
Commencing her career as a GSIII typist and labor relations specialist with the U.S. Treasury and U.S. Customs Service, Ms. Kiko chose to return to school in order to pursue her newfound dream of law. Backed by a BS in education from North Dakota State University in 1972, Ms. Kiko achieved a JD from George Mason University in 1986 and was a law clerk at the Fairfax County Attorney’s office while attending law school. Now a renowned attorney specializing in labor law, Ms. Kiko was nominated by President Trump and confirmed by the Senate in 2017 to serve as chairman of the Federal Labor Relations Authority. Additionally, since 2002, she has notably served on the Employees’ Compensation Appeals Board with the U.S. Department of Labor.
Admitted to practice law in Washington D.C. and the Commonwealth of Virginia, Ms. Kiko accepted the position of attorney advisor in the civil rights division of the U.S. Department of Justice in 1986, and served as special assistant to the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia from 1988 to 1989. Appointed to associate counsel to the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Civil and Constitutional Rights through 1989, she returned to law practice in 1996 when she spearheaded the Law Offices of Colleen Duffy Kiko, PC, in 1996. In 1999, she became an associate with Ronald M. Cohen & Associates, and went on to serve the U.S. Federal Labor Relations Authority as general counsel from 2005 to 2008.
