Jorge Luis Rivas Jr., Attorney at The Law Office of Jorge Luis Rivas Jr., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
Growing up, Mr. Rivas enjoyed witnessing an underdog succeed, whether it be through literature, television, or film. While he did not know much about legal work prior to studying the field, he felt that a career as a lawyer would give him the platform to consistently achieve that same satisfaction. In 1993, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He later relocated to the Baylor University School of Law, acquiring a Juris Doctor in 1998.
In the years following his graduation, Mr. Rivas became licensed to practice law in the state of Texas. He was additionally certified through the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. In 1998, after holding several positions as a law clerk, Mr. Rivas was hired as the assistant district attorney for the 34th Judicial District of the El Paso County District Attorney’s Office. He remained there until 2001, which is when he moved to Robles, Bracken, Coffman, and Hughes LLP as an assistant attorney. He stayed with the group for several years before transitioning to The Law Office of Jorge Luis Rivas Jr. as the attorney and counselor at law. He remains in that position today, alongside working as the associate municipal judge for the city of El Paso, Texas. In the future, Mr. Rivas hopes to mentor attorneys and teach them all that he has learned.
