Marian L. Faupel, Of Counsel at Faupel Musser Love, P.C., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in family law.
Mrs. Faupel started out as a teacher and became interested in public education. She began on the board of education and made a substantial impact so she kept being reelected. Attorneys would come in to help with the labor disputes on the teacher union. After 12 years on the board, she thought it was time to go back to work. She likes to argue so a career as an attorney would have been best for Ms. Faupel. She first earned a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Michigan in 1965. When she decided she wanted a career in law, Ms. Faupel received a Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University in 1983.
Ms. Faupel’s career highlight that stood out the most was when she was nominated for the Michiganian of the Year Award in 1994, they conducted a profile on all of the nominees. One of the things they quoted in their article was that in every David vs. Goliath case, Ms. Faupel would be David. She realized when she was 50, that she would of not of been the person she is today if she didn’t have the childhood she had. She began her career in law in 1983 as an associate at Smith, Hirsch, Brody & Weingarden. She remained for a year before becoming an associate for Hill, Lewis, Adams, Goodrich & Tait in 1984, remaining until 1986. In 1986, she moved on to Burnham, Connolly, Oesterie & Henry as an associate until 1988. From there, she became of counsel at Schlussel, Lifton, Simon, Rands, Galvin & Jackier, Professional Corporation from 1988 to 1990. In 1990, Ms. Faupel became the sole shareholder of Faupel & Associates, staying with the company until 2019. Then she became of counsel at Faupel Musser Love, P.C., where she remains to this day. As a testament to her success, Ms. Faupel has been a recipient of myriad awards, including but not limited to the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Wayne Law School Law Review in 2008 and a Certificate of Achievement from the Washtenaw County Bar Association in 1986. She is also listed in the 11th edition of Who’s Who in American Law.
