Ms. Simmons first pursued an education at Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in international relations. In the subsequent years, she attended the Mississippi School of Law. She successfully graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2011. She attributes much of her success to hard work, as well as the people who have guided her in the right direction.
Shortly after becoming certified in criminal law, Ms. Simmons began working as an associate attorney at Divorce Incorporated. She remained there until 2015, which is when she was offered a position as a partner at Carey, Simmons, and Bryant PLLC. She remains there today, continuing to uphold her reputation of success. Alongside her primary position, Ms. Simmons additionally works as an attorney for Criminal Defense, LLC, where she has been since 2013. Through her work, she has realized that her true passion is for criminal defense, which is what keeps her motivated.
In light of her accomplishments, Ms. Simmons earned the Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award for Excellent in the Field of Criminal Law from the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys in both 2015 and 2016. Additionally, she has been ranked highly within many professional publications. As an active member of her industry, she is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association of Young Lawyers, the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association, the Howell Edmunds Jackson American Inn of Court, and the Lawyers’ Association for Women, among several others. She looks forward to growing as a professional in the future, which will enable her to help as many people as possible.
