Inspired to go into his field because of his mother, who always encouraged him to pursue law, Mr. Hawkins is the president and a managing attorney at his own firm, the Law Offices of Carl G. Hawkins, P.A.®, since 2017, as well as of corporate counsel at Overwatch Partners, Inc., since 2018. He began his professional career as the manager of Epic Weapons in 2006, remaining in this role for eight years before founding Carls Logistic Services from 2013 to 2017. During this time, he served as a legal intern at Arcadier and Associates, PA – The Melbourne Legal Team from 2014 to 2017, and an intern at Michael Huyghue & Associates in 2017. Prior to the start of his career, Mr. Hawkins pursued a formal education at the University of South Florida in Tampa, earning a Bachelor of Arts in criminology in 2013. He then attended the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, where he attained a JD in 2017. Admitted to practice in the State of Florida, he also holds a business certificate from the Florida Coastal School of Law since 2016.
Active in his community, Mr. Hawkins was a volunteer coordinator of the judicial campaign for the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida in 2014 and a certified legal intern for the Public Defender’s Office of the Fourth Judicial Circuit in 2016. Additionally, he consults for the Greek American Association of Brevard and maintains involvement with numerous other organizations related to his field, including the Florida Coastal School of Law Sports Law Society, the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. In recognition of his efforts, at the Hellenic Dance Festival, Mr. Hawkins was a Bronze and Gold Medalist with the Grecian Odyssey Dancers in 2007 and 2008, respectively, and a Silver Medalist with the Syrtaki of Boca Dance Group in 2009. Furthermore, he received the CALI Book Award: Intellectual Property in 2016.
