Prior to establishing this firm, he was a partner with Vedder, Price, Kaufmann and Kammholz from 1964 to 1985 and with Magill and Kullby from 1972 to 1973. From 1960 to 1971, he was a partner with Pope and Ballard and, from 1957 to 1959, he was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kullby was a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice from 1955 to 1957.
Mr. Kullby began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1946 to 1947. He then pursued an education at Purdue University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in engineering in 1952. He continued his studies at Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Laws in 1952. Mr. Kullby has been admitted to practice in the States of Indiana, Illinois and Colorado, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States.
