Eduardo Leite, Chairman Emeritus and Senior Partner at Baker & McKenzie, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements and leadership in project finance for large corporations.
Through his experience in helping a retired judge, Mr. Leite found that he was interested in pursuing a career in law. His background in history, politics and philosophy provided him with a foundation for law school that not many other students had, which contributed greatly to his success. He initially pursued a formal education at the Institute Osimani y Llerena in Uruguay, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts. In 1978, Mr. Leite acquired a JD from the University of Sao Paulo prior to earning a Master of Laws from New York University in 1980.
Mr. Leite has always had an aptitude for understanding the many intricacies of legal work. He hopes to never stop learning, as education is the foundation of acceptance and tolerance. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with two law firms, Stroeter Trench e Veirano in Sao Paulo and Baker & McKenzie in the United States. In each of the firms, his achievements have continuously propelled him to take on higher-up positions. Today, Mr. Leite is recognized as a chairman emeritus of Baker & McKenzie, which is a role that he considers to be the greatest achievement of his life.
To keep up with current industry trends, Mr. Leite holds membership to the Brazilian Bar Association, the American Chamber of Commerce, the French Chamber of Commerce and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce. Outside of his primary roles, he has worked on the fellowship for the Community Church of Sao Paulo and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Group. As a testament to his success, Mr. Leite is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World, as well as the 22nd edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
