Lynde Selden II, General Counsel at Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements and leadership in litigation.
As an accomplished and respected lawyer, Mr. Selden has worked in the State of California since 1976, representing clients in insurance bad faith, product liability, legal malpractice and construction defects. He has tried more than 65 cases in federal and state courts, argued in various federal and state courts of appeals, and lectured on various topics to multiple groups including the Building Industry Association, as well as insurance professionals. Currently, Mr. Selden applies his knowledge and experience as general counsel with Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., in San Diego, a position he has held since 2008. The company has been in business since 2000 and in his position, he supervises litigation and advises the company in numerous areas. In addition to his primary pursuits, he is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the California Mortgage Bankers Association.
Prior to his primary career pursuits, Mr. Selden served in the U.S. Navy for four years and received an honorable discharge. He enrolled at New York University, where an economics professor inspired him to pursue a career as an attorney by assigning case law as class readings. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in economics and matriculated at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he earned a JD in 1976. In recognition of his success and experience, Mr. Selden has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by San Diego Magazine and California Top Lawyers. He looks forward to continuing his current work and in the coming years, he plans to be nearing his retirement.
