Julie R. Hess, Partner and Director of Operations at Kajko, Weisman, and Colasanti, LLP, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements and leadership in family law.
With nearly 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Hess has been a partner with Kajko, Weisman, and Colasanti, LLP, since 2010, also serving as director of operations for the firm. Prior to obtaining her current roles, she was a partner with Denner Pellegrino, LLP, from 2007 to 2010 and an associate with Rackemann, Sawyer, and Brewster from 2006 to 2007. From 2003 to 2006, she was an associate with Rubin and Rudman, LLP, and from 2003 to 2005 with White, Inker, and Aronson. Earlier in her career, Ms. Hess was an associate with McGrath and Kane from 2001 to 2003.
Ms. Hess first pursued an education at Ball State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English. She continued her studies at the New England School of Law, earning a JD in 2002. Furthermore, Ms. Hess studied at the University of Galway, Ireland and at Westminster College in England. She has been admitted to practice in the State of Massachusetts as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She is a certified conciliator, and she is a discovery master and conciliator with the Middlesex Probate and Family Courts and taught seminars on the new alimony reform laws in Massachusetts for MCLE. Ms. Hess has been accepted to the New Hampshire bar and looks forward to continuing her legal work in the state. She previously practiced as Pro Hac Vice counsel in NH.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Hess has been affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. Ms. Hess is the author of “United States and Africa on FGM: Cultural Comparatives, Resolutions, and Rights” for the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hess has been recognized for her contributions. She has been named a Rising Star by Massachusetts and New England Super Lawyers Magazine nine times, a Top Woman of Law by Boston Magazine twice and a Leading Female Lawyer by Intercontinental Finance Magazine. Ms. Hess attributed her success to hard work and great mentors.
