Sheila Hermes Marshall, Lawyer at Dewey & LeBoeuf, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
With many of her family members working in the field, Ms. Marshall grew up around the law. Prior to deciding to make a career of it, she worked as a secretary for a law firm over the course of one summer, which she considered to be a profound experience that left her feeling inspired. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Saint John’s University, Ms. Marshall graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Laws in 1963.
In the following years, Ms. Marshall was admitted to practice law by the United States Supreme Court, the New York State Bar Association and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Fifth Circuit and the District of Columbia Circuit. She found much of her professional success within the Dewey & LeBoeuf law firm in New York City. In 1963, she was accepted her inaugural position with the aforementioned company as an associate. Promoted to partner in 1973, Ms. Marshall excelled of counsel in 1994 before her retirement from the practice in 2004.
Throughout her career, Ms. Marshall has brought her insights to the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. A specialist in her field, she attributes her success to her pure love of the law. However, she additionally credits the many lawyers with whom she collaborated on her cases, as feels that she was truly partners with these individuals, which only furthered her passion for the field. As a testament to her success, Ms. Marshall is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
