With more than three decades of professional experience to his credit, Mr. Brownfield has flourished as an attorney with Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C. since 1986. His responsibilities within the firm include trademark and copyright work, basic international property litigation and business suits. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Brownfield worked as a clerk for Justice Robert E. Cooper of the Tennessee Supreme Court between 1984 and 1986.

A graduate of the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, Mr. Brownfield initially earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice in 1980. Four years later, he obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1984. Subsequently, he was admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Georgia and the Tennessee Bar Association. Likewise, Mr. Brownfield has represented cases before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

A member of the American Bar Association, Mr. Brownfield also maintains his affiliation with the International Trademark Association, the Chattanooga Junior Chamber of Commerce Legal Counsel, the Chattanooga Bar Association and the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. An active participant of his community, he has been active as the director of the Visually Impaired Training and Learning Center as well as a member and legal counsel of the Chattanooga Elks. He accepted the Officer of the Year Award from the Chattanooga Elks between 2017 and 2018, and was honored for the Project of the Year from the Chattanooga Jaycees in 1991. In the coming years, Mr. Brownfield hopes to continue working within the practice.
