David Miller Steiner, Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
In 1980, Mr. Steiner graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University. Then, he was still unsure of what he would do with his degree. He decided to explore the world and joined the Peace Corps. For the next two years, he would be an English teacher in Tahoua, Niger. During this time, he frequently thought about law school. Ever since he was a child, he had always been interested in becoming a lawyer. When Mr. Steiner returned to the United States, he was still thinking about law school. He finally took action and enrolled at Cornell University. He graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1988. He later furthered his education with a master’s in international and public affairs in 1989 and a Master of Laws from New York University in 1993.
Certified through numerous bar associations, Mr. Steiner has accumulated a multitude of experience in the legal system. He began his career as a law clerk for Judge Jane Restani of the United States Court of International Trade in New York City from 1989 until 1991. To gain more experience, he continued as a law clerk for Judge Reynaldo Garza of the United State Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Brownsville, Texas, until 1992. In 1993, Mr. Steiner became an associate at Wasserman, Schneider, and Babb. He stayed there until 1995 when he accepted a position as an attorney with the New York City Department Office of the Corporation Counsel. In 2002, he relocated to the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. He remains there today and continues to excel in his role.
In 2010, Mr. Steiner was honored as an Outstanding Attorney by the United States Department of Justice. He believes much of his success comes from how much he enjoys his work. One of the highlights of his career was working on the COBRA Tax Litigation. He delights in the aggressive nature of his work, as he is never willing to settle. His tenacious and determined work ethic continues to bring him success today. As a further testament to his achievements, Mr. Steiner is featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in the World, as well as the 31st edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
