Arnold Hafford, Attorney at Pearlman Brown & Wax, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in worker’s compensation litigation.
Mr. Hafford became involved in his profession because members of his Midwestern family did not have college degrees. However, both of his parents left behind a legacy of honesty and hard work, which inspired him to do the same. Upon graduating high school, he attended the University of Nevada-Reno and earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with honors, in 1979. Soon thereafter, he interned with the Nevada Supreme Court in Carson City, later securing a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1982. While working as a law clerk for District Judge John W. Barrett between 1982 and 1983, Mr. Hafford was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada as well as the states of Nevada and California.
From 1983 to 1996, Mr. Hafford excelled as an attorney in Reno with Hill, Cassas, DeLipkau & Erwin and the Law Offices of Edward M. Bernstein & Associates. Subsequently, he became the owner and principal attorney of the Law Offices of Arnold A. Hafford until 2002. He then relocated to California and served as an attorney for several firms throughout San Jose, Pleasanton, Concord, and Pleasant Hill. Furthermore, he found success as an attorney with Pearlman Brown & Wax, since 2019. Much of his work with the aforementioned firm deals with sports litigation and worker’s compensation claims. The highlight of Mr. Hafford’s career was when he was able to successfully represent the family of a young girl who was mauled by a neighbor’s husky-wolf hybrid in Battle Mountain, Nevada. He won the case and received a settlement for a little girl from the neighbor’s homeowner’s insurance.
To remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Hafford maintains a professional relationship with the American Bar Association, the Washoe County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the State Bar of California. Civically, he dedicated his time to the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints and as a little league coach for 20 years. During his spare time, he enjoys playing softball and basketball.
