Frederick Lombardi, Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in commercial law, business law, and litigation.
Inspired by his father who was a lawyer and a judge, Mr. Lombardi knew that he, too, he wanted to become a lawyer. He prepared for this endeavor by earning a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Akron in 1960 and a Bachelor of Laws from Case Western Reserve. He served on the board of editors of the Western Reserve Law Review from 1961 until his graduation in 1962. Mr. Lombardi’s bar admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern districts of Ohio in 1962, the state of Ohio in 1964, and the U.S. Court Appeals for the 6th circuit in 1966. He has served as principal and shareholder of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, in Akron, Ohio, since 1962 concurrently held the role of chairman of the company’s commercial law and litigation department from 1989 to 1999.
Highly regarded in the field of law, Mr. Lombardi holds membership with the Ohio Bar Association, previously serving on its council of delegates from 1995 to 1997. He also holds membership with the Akron Bar Association, serving as a trustee from 1991 to 1994, and president as well as vice president at various times. Furthermore, he is involved in the Case Western Reserve University Law Alumni Association, serving as a board member from 1995 to 1998 and again from 2003 to 2006, is a member of the Case Western Reserve Society Benchers, Fairlawn Swim and Tennis Club, the Portage Country Club, and Pi Sigma Alpha.
In addition to his primary pursuits, Mr. Lombardi has served as a trustee, member of the executive committee, and vice president of the Ohio Ballet from 1985 to 1993. He has also been a trustee of Walsh Jesuit High School from 1987 to 1990, a life trustee of both the Akron Golf Charities and the NEC World Series of Golf, a past board member of the Summa Health Systems Foundation, a Downtown Akron Partnership board member, and a former president of the St. Hilary Parish Foundation.
Mr. Lombardi is proud to have served people by helping them throughout his life. He is happy to have been able to contribute to the community and make a relevant mark in people’s lives. He was most proud of the success he had over the years in representing clients as well as mentoring younger lawyers in the field. As a testament to his success, he has been named Lawyer of Year by Akron Banking and Financial Law in 2015 as well as by Akron Litigation Real Estate in 2014. Furthermore, Mr. Lombardi has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America from 2010 to 2014 and as an Ohio Super Lawyer from 2004 to 2008.
