Shane T. Kirk, Associate Attorney at Cole Scott & Kissane P A, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in prosecution law.
Mr. Kirk knew that he wanted to be a lawyer since he was in high school. He was a big fan of the original Law and Order television series and knew that he wanted to be a prosecutor by the time he went to the University of Florida. Mr. Kirk turned all his energy to his goal, and he interned with law enforcement agencies as well as with and the district attorney’s office in order to focus his legal career on prosecution. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in criminology and a minor in education before earning a JD from Florida International University College of Law and passing the Florida bar exam. He served as assistant state attorney for the State Attorney’s Office of the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Broward County from 2012 to 2017 before becoming an associate at Cole, Scott, Kissane LLP, in West Palm Beach, Florida, in 2017.
Mr. Kirk attributes his success to his willingness to learn and his lack of complacency with the knowledge he does have. He was greatly inspired by Dennis Siegel, who was the head of the sex crimes unit at the State Attorney’s office when Mr. Kirk was in high school, a leading factor behind Mr. Kirk going into the field of law. Mr. Kirk worked in public service for and loved being able to make a difference in people’s lives. He plans on continuing working within his firm and hopes to make partner within the next five years. He advises all those considering entering the field of law to be themselves, work hard, and find a good mentor who will guide and support them.
