Houston Lowry has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in commercial litigation and arbitration.
For nearly four decades, Mr. Lowry has lived out his childhood dream of practicing as a lawyer. With a profound passion for his line of work, he has successfully represented hundreds of clients throughout the years. He currently serves as a principal at Polivy, Lowry, and Clayton, joining this firm in 2015. Prior to this post, he served as a principal at Brown & Welsh Professional Corporation and at Tarlow, Levy & Droney. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lowry served as an associate at Tarlow, Levy & Droney from 1983 to 1988, and as a law clerk to Judge William M. Acker Jr. with the U.S. District Court in Birmingham, Alabama. He has also illuminated the career paths of aspiring legal professionals as an adjunct faculty member of international trade law and international commercial arbitration with the University of Connecticut Law School.
Mr. Lowry set out on his career path by first earning a Bachelor of Arts at Pitzer College in 1976. He then earned an MBA at the University of Connecticut and a JD cum laude at Gonzaga University in 1980. He continued at the University of Cambridge to receive an LLB and an LLM in 1981 and 1988, respectively. Mr. Lowry’s work has been recognized with the Charles A. Dana fellowship and as a fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Worship County Arbitrators. He is a member and has served on various committees for the American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. Furthermore, he maintains affiliation as a patron of the American Society of International Law and as a member of the International Law Association, the American Law Institute, the Hartford Club and the Honor Society of Gray’s Inn. On top of being featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America, Mr. Lowry endeavors to continue practicing law for many years to come.
