Charles L. Fine, Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in employment law.
Always told that he was a natural for the field of law, Mr. Fine began his education at the University of Wisconsin, earning a Bachelor of Science in 1955. He later obtained a JD and a Master of Laws from The Washington College of Law of The American University in 1961. Mr. Fine was certified to practice law by the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of Arizona, and the U.S. Supreme Court. A talented public speaker, he started his professional career as a newscaster and news editor for WKOW Radio and TV from 1953 to 1958. He later served as a writer and editor for the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads from 1958 to 1961. Entering the field of law, Mr. Fine found success in the positions of a trial and staff attorney for the U.S. National Labor Relations Board, an attorney for the Griffith & Griffith Law Firm, an attorney and partner at Clark, Hardy, Lewis & Fine, and an associate professor of law at the University of Detroit School of Law, at which there was created a scholarship in his honor.
From 1981 until his retirement in 2015, Mr. Fine excelled as a partner at O’Connor, Cavanagh, et al, of counsel at Streich Lang, and of counsel at Littler Mendelson, the position from which he retired. Notably, Mr. Fine served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and was a gold medal winner at the National Senior Olympics & World Senior Games in 2007, 2009, and 2011. Outside of his immediate professional responsibilities, Mr. Fine is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a member of the American Employment Law Council, and a co-editor and author of the Arizona Employment Law Handbook. He was selected by The Arizona Supreme Court to the court’s Commission on Minorities where he developed the first program encouraging minorities and women to seek judicial positions. As a testament to his success, he has been featured in the 25th edition of Who’s Who in the World, as well as in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in American Law, and Who’s Who in America.
