Ms. Dwyer prepared for her career at Smith College in Northhampton, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1973. She transitioned to the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., earning a JD in 1978 and starting as a shareholder at Wilkes Artis, where she worked in zoning law. Ms. Dwyer was licensed to practice law by the District of Columbia Circuit in the United States Court of Appeals in 1979, and has additionally been licensed to practice by the United States Supreme Court. She worked at Wilkes Artis for more than 20 years, and in 2000, she transitioned to Pillsbury Winthrop Show Pittman. Ms. Dwyer started as a partner in the firm’s real estate group, rising to the rank of managing partner of the D.C. office in 2005, a position she holds presently. In 2010, she accepted a role as of counsel attorney at Goulston and Storrs, where she continues to practice to this day.

In addition to her professional legal endeavors, Ms. Dwyers has been an active member of multiple organizations throughout her career. From 1989 to 1991, she served as the president of Commercial Real Estate Women, and she has additionally served as a member of the Federal City Council of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Dwyers maintains memberships to the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the DC Building Industry Association, and the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. In 2001, she was recognized for her excellence by Washingtonian Magazine, which named her one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Washington. She has additionally been named to the Best Lawyers for U.S. Real Estate Lawyers by Chambers, USA. Ms. Dwyers has been proud to represent universities and has strived to serve as a role model and mentor for other aspiring professional women.
